Pre Teen Martial Arts Classes
Ages 10 - 12
Pre Teens is our karate classes for 10, 11, and 12-year-olds, the three years between childhood and the teens. These ages are crucial for self development with changes (internal and external) causing a lot of confusion. Our class offers pre teenagers the opportunity to build their confidence, exercise, and learn martial arts like karate and jiu jitsu.
Children this age are moving up to secondary school, taking on their first real responsibilities, and working out who they are among friends changing just as fast. Our class gives them somewhere to use up energy, build confidence, and learn critical skills.
It is also the age when pressure arrives, so we teach a calm inner voice on purpose. Meditation and mindfulness are part of the syllabus: they take the edge off anxiety and build a daily habit that supports the 3 C’s: Confidence, Conduct, and Concentration.
Martial Arts for 10-Year-Olds and Up
At The Warrior Academy, martial arts for 10 to 13-year-olds is not a junior class with the volume turned up. Instructors work across karate and jiu jitsu with a syllabus written for this age, where children are trusted with more, helping them understand what they are capable of as they make the transition from childhood to teenage years. Pre-teens train in Al Quoz, Arjan, Jumeirah Islands, and at our Abu Dhabi centre.
Physical
training
Growth spurts make 10, 11, and 12-year-olds strong a difficult time for kids as they learn about themselves and who they are becoming. Karate builds the strength, fitness, and coordination to keep up with a changing body. Alongside our anti-bullying work, a pre-teen learns to defuse a situation before it becomes one.
Skill development
At 10 to 12 the hard situations are social: the group chat, the friend who turned, the older child on the school bus. Pre-teens learn self-defence techniques, and the judgement that decides when to use them, which is rarely. Confidence means walking away without feeling small.
Mental development
Our karate classes for 10-year-olds and up ask for focus in specific ways: holding a stance while tired, remembering a longer combination, sitting still longer in meditation. Secondary school will demand exactly that. Respect for everyone in the room is not negotiable.
Overall experience
Belt progression means more when children understand what it costs. Gradings are registered with the WKF and the UAE Karate Federation, so a pre-teen's belt is internationally recognised. Children who join at 10, 11, or 12 with no experience start at the beginning and are never made to feel behind.
