Senior Martial Arts Classes
Ages 7 - 9
Senior Warriors is our martial arts for 7 – 9-year-olds, drawing on karate, taekwondo, and jiu jitsu. These are the years when school gets more serious, friendships get more complicated, and children first notice where they stand in a group. Bullying, where it happens, tends to surface now. So we put real weight on confidence, leadership, and the Warrior Family that gives a 7-year-old somewhere to belong and grow.
Martial Arts for 7-Year-Olds and Up
At The Warrior Academy, karate for 7 year olds, karate for 8 year olds, and karate for 9 year olds is taught through the Warrior Method, so character comes first and technique carries it. Seniors are old enough to understand why they bow, and why the strongest child in the room is expected to be the kindest. Classes at Al Quoz, Arjan, Jumeirah Islands, and Abu Dhabi are capped at 13, with a monthly one-to-one parent call.
Physical Training
Between 7 and 9, children can finally do what they picture: kicks land where they are aimed and stances hold. Balance, flexibility, power, speed, and strength all climb quickly now: taekwondo for 8 year olds who love to kick, karate combinations that demand precision, and jiu jitsu for control on the mat.
Skill Development
Seniors learn to read a situation before they react to it. Anti-bullying work at this age is practical: calm words first, a firm boundary second, and self-defense techniques as a last resort, with an adult told every time. That quiet assurance goes into school with them.
Mental Development
Homework, tests, and a busier social life all arrive around 7, 8, and 9, and so does stress. Martial arts gives children a healthy way to handle it: a discipline that asks for focus, a routine that steadies them, and small setbacks, like a grading not passed, that teach them to try again.
Overall Experience
Whether your child starts at 7 or is getting competitive at 8 or 9, belt progression is the thread through Senior Warriors. Motivation shifts too: Seniors stop training because they are told to and start because they want the next belt.

Senior Martial Arts Classes
At this age, seniors move into the Control stage of our A.C.E self-defence system (Avoid, Control, Engage). Where Juniors learnt to break free and create distance while standing their ground. Seniors learn what to do if a situation goes to the ground: how to hold and how to escape from three positions, mount, side, and back. It is taught as control, not fighting.
