Children practising techniques at The Warrior Academy Abu Dhabi

At The Warrior Academy Abu Dhabi at Al Wahda Mall, jiu jitsu is the part of the syllabus that teaches children to stay calm and in control at close range. It is taught in every programme from age 2, together with karate, taekwondo, boxing and Muay Thai.

Safe falling, escapes and control

The first lessons are about falling and rolling safely. From there children learn to escape from holds and to keep their balance when someone pushes or pulls. Our self-defence is taught through the A.C.E system, Avoid, Control, Engage, and jiu jitsu is where children practise the Control part with a partner.

Training together as a family

Jiu jitsu works well for parents and children together, because it is about control rather than strength. On the current Abu Dhabi timetable there is a family session at 12:30pm on Saturdays, and children’s sessions run every day of the week.

Check the Abu Dhabi timetable for the session that suits your child’s age.
