Many autistic children love detail, patterns and doing things properly. Martial arts is built on exactly that: precise techniques, clear sequences and a belt system that shows every step forward. At The Warrior Academy, those strengths become a black belt path.
How we coach autistic children
- Predictable sessions. Every session follows the same structure, from the opening bow to the cool-down, so your child always knows what comes next.
- Clear, direct instructions. One step at a time, shown as well as said.
- Techniques that reward precision. Patterns and forms are learned step by step and perfected, which suits children who like to get things exactly right.
- Friendships through shared effort. Partner work gives children a structured way to connect, with clear rules about how to train together.
- Small groups. Capped at 13 children and grouped by age, so nobody gets lost in a crowd.
Making it easy from day one
- Visit first. Come and see the dojo and meet the instructor before the first session.
- Ear defenders welcome. Your child can wear them whenever they like.
- A break space. If your child needs a moment, they can step out to a calm spot and rejoin when they are ready.
Questions parents ask
What parents of autistic children usually ask us.
Can my child visit before they start?
Yes. Tell us about your child when you book and we will arrange a visit, so the dojo and the instructor are familiar before the first session.
Will my child train with other children?
Yes, in our normal age-group programmes, working towards the same belts as everyone else. Partner work follows clear rules, which many autistic children find makes friendships easier.
What if the noise is too much?
Your child can wear ear defenders whenever they like, and there is a calm break space to step out to and rejoin when they are ready. Groups are capped at 13, so the room never gets too busy.
Does the session follow a routine?
Yes. Every session follows the same structure, from the opening bow to the cool-down. If anything changes, such as a grading, we tell families in advance.
Does my child need to wear the uniform straight away?
No. Comfortable sports clothes are fine for the first session, and children can move into the uniform when they are ready.
How will we track progress?
The Breakthrough Area Assessment sets a starting point for confidence, conduct and concentration, and you have a monthly one-to-one call with your child’s instructor.
How much does it cost, and how do we start?
Memberships start from AED 898 a month. New families start with a VIP Pass for AED 199: an introduction session, a Breakthrough Area Assessment of your child’s confidence, conduct and concentration, and a goal-setting call with their instructor. Claim your VIP Pass.
